The Pedersoli Gas block is part # 38 and is a life saver I believe Pedersoli just recently started using it on all there new rifles. The IAB doesnﾒt have this removable gas block and will slowly degrade and pit because it only has a breech block and gas will escape violently after a while. It is designed to be replaced after so many shots and replacement is very cheep. The pedersoli will come fitted with a gas block which attaches to the breech block this gas block is shiny silver and oil impregnated and it is very easy to remove with just your hand for replacement. One last thing I must add which makes this carbine so much better than the IAB. Trust me this gun is of high quality but do your research before you shoot it read the owners manual and clean it any chance you get. Also note that this rifle will only shoot 10 shots after that u will have to take the action out and spit on it in the field and wipe it down or lubricate it. Putting a bullet and loose powder works but is very hard and frustrating. Paper cartridge kits are available on this site buy it! u must buy this kit with your gun or it just wonﾒt work out for you. U can only shoot it with paper cartridges!! or brass cases. Please note the rifle requires a lot of maintenance. Bluing and color case hardening are perfect and very classic antique looking. The fit and finish of my Pedersoli is great! there are no issues wood furniture is fit almost 100% perfect.

If I had to give a scale on fit finish and overall quality!! I give the IAB Sharps a 60% and the Pedersoli a 95%. The overall Quality is just way higher with the Pedersoli. There is just too many little things wrong with the IAB model. Just received my Pedersoli Sharps and love it I use to own a IAB Sharps Carbine and it was good but now that I have this rifle there is no comparison.
